Primary Care Q & A
What is primary care?
Primary care involves the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of health issues when needed to keep you and your entire family healthy. The Seby Medical Center offers a wide array of medical services to reduce your risk of illness or disease. When you or a loved one is sick, we offer expert evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment (as needed) to help you feel better as soon as possible.
A primary care doctor also serves as the first medical provider you call when you have a health care need. If you need to see a specialist, they can refer you to the appropriate doctor or allied health professional.
Which primary care services do you offer?
Some of the primary care services available at Seby Medical Center include:
Why might I need primary care?
You can benefit from primary care services if you have any of the following medical conditions:
Our primary care provider can also screen you for medical conditions you’re at risk of developing due to family history or personal risk factors. Early detection and treatment can help you avoid serious complications and costly medical treatments.
What happens during primary care visits?
During primary care visits, our friendly staff members will welcome you as our provider weighs you and checks your vital signs. They will review your personal and family medical history, ask about any medications you take, your lifestyle, and any symptoms you may experience.
Our primary care specialist also completes a physical examination to assess your overall health and offer annual wellness exams. Additional screenings or diagnostic tests may be recommended to assess your hormone levels or risk factors for disease. These could include urinalysis, blood work, tests of heart and lung function, allergy testing, and other tests to detect or rule out medical problems.
What are my primary care treatment options?
The primary care treatments that we offer are tailored to your specific needs and medical condition, and may include lifestyle changes or prescription medications. Our doctor may refer you to a specialist if you have a complex or severe medical problem that requires specialized care.
